Improving the water quality
-
Controlling the infestation of Eurasian Watermilfoil
-
Preventing other invasive species from entering the lake
-
Protecting native flora & fauna
-
Promoting safe boating/recreational activities
-
Fostering a strong sense of community through social gatherings
-
Lobbying for property owner's collective interests at a local and state level
We have a collaborative relationship with and are supported by the Town of Eden, the State of Vermont, the Lamoille Conservation District, and the Lake Champlain Basin Program in our mission. Our work is funded through a combination of membership dues, grants, allocations from the town, and private donations. Our work and the health of this special natural resource relies on the numerous hours and very hard work of many volunteers.
Mission
The Lake Eden Association (LEA) was founded in 1960 by a group of neighbors. We continue today as friends and neighbors who seek to protect and enhance the water quality and overall health of the Lake's ecosystem while balancing the recreational value to the community. We work closely with the Town of Eden and State of Vermont to accomplish these goals. We also sponsor social events and support local charities. We are a non-profit (501 c3) corporation run by an elected and volunteer Board of Directors. Our work is funded through a combination of membership dues, private donations, and grants. Our efforts to preserve what is the Town of Eden's prized asset would not be possible without the many hours and hard work of our wonderful volunteers. Please consider joining and volunteering to preserve our beautiful and very special lake.

See our Board and Committees page for more information on our operating model.
Lake Eden was formed more than 10,000 years ago during the period when receding glaciers left bodies of water in the valleys of the Green Mountains. Originally called North Pond, the name was officially changed to Lake Eden in 1908. The lake has a long history so check it out here!
