Plant Surveys

Surveys of plant life in Lake Eden date back to 1987.  Lake Eden is home to over 30 different plant species. Three of which are rare indigenous species and two of which are invasive plant species. Diverse and thriving aquatic native plants are beneficial to the lake’s health.   Invasive species on the other hand, are a threat to the Lake ecosystem.  The 2 Invasive species found in Lake Eden are Phragmites and Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) .  EWM was first discovered in Lake Eden in July 2022 and is of great concern for the overall health and use of the lake.  Below is a listing of species  (indigenous, invasive and rare) found within Lake Eden as well as the 3 rare species.
